Ordsall Hall

Following a major restoration programme in 2011, Salford’s ‘historical hidden gem’is now restored back to its former glory. Visit this Grade 1 listed manor houseand you’ll discover over 800 years of history. And find that since 1210, the hall has been home to medieval gentry, Tudor nobility, Catholics loyal to the crown, butchers, farmers, an artist, priests, scout troops, mill workers,an Earl and several ghosts!

From the highly decorative Great Hall through to the Star Chamber in the oldest wing of the house, you can unearth the story of the Hall and soak up the atmosphere in historically re-created room settings. You can also discover what was cooked in a Tudor kitchen and get the low-down on the people who lived here through hands-on family friendly events and exhibitions. There’s also beautifully landscaped gardens and a café.
